SICK NEWBORN CARE UNIT

We follow FBNC guidelines prepared by government of India | NHM | UNICEF in consultation with experts from LHMC & KSCH, MAMC, Safderganj Hospital, AIMS DELHI, PGIMR Chandigarh, BHU Varanasi etc.

Admission Criteria:

Any neonate with following should be immediately admitted-

Birth Weight<1800 gsm; or gestation<34 weeks
Large Baby (birth weight>4kgs)
Perinatal asphyxia
Apnea or gasping
Refusal to feed
Respiratory distress (R.R>60/min or grunt/retractions)
Severe Jaundice
Hypothermia (<34.4 degree celsius) hyperthermia (37.7 degree celsius) Central cyanosis
Shock (cold periphery with CFT>3 second and weak & fast pulse)
Coma, coonvulsions, or encephalopathy
Abdominal distension
Diarrhoea/dysentery
Bleeding
Major Malformation
